Are You Neglecting Your Spiritual Health?

In today's world, it's easy to get overwhelmed by stress. The demands of your everyday life can make you feel as if you're being pulled in a million different directions. When you're physically stretched too thin, you can easily get sick. When you're mentally/emotionally overwhelmed you can feel anxiety. But what happens if you're spiritually stretched too thin?

When you get spiritually exhausted, it's hard to recover physically and emotionally. No amount of rest, good food, or caffeine seems to help. You're just dragging yourself along from event to event. Sound familiar?

Empaths tend to be people pleasers and givers because we love to help. However, this can lead to your giving and receiving being out of balance. When this happens, you give until you're exhausted, but aren't doing things to properly re-fill yourself.  It's important to carve out time for your spiritual health as a way to re-fill your energetic tank. Practicing self-love and self-care is the key to keeping yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically well.

So, how do you carve out time for your spiritual health?

 1) Schedule time for your spiritual health as if it's an important appointment....because it is!

Making your spiritual health a priority is essential. If you feel like you don't have 10 minutes to devote to it daily, then try scheduling at least 3x/week where you can devote at least 15-30 minutes to a spiritual pursuit. This might be something like meditation, reading a spiritual text, participating in a religious or spiritual gathering etc.

2) Practice compassion and tolerance whenever possible.

Let's face it, family gatherings have a tendency to push some buttons. You have the right to say NO to gatherings that are going to make you feel terrible. If you do decide to attend a difficult gathering, then it can be helpful to hold the intention of compassion and tolerance. Not everyone is at the same place in their journey. Keeping yourself peaceful is the priority.

3) Focus on what brings you joy!

Spiritual health is about peace and joy. There are many paths to attain these feelings, but it's important to focus in on what brings them to YOU! Joy is like love. It's such a high vibration, that when you feel it, it sends out a signal to the Universe that says "More of this please!" Find and focus on what brings you joy to keep this happy vibration in your life.
