Last week, I discussed the Triune Brain Theory and how it's helpful to think of your brain as having 3 different personalities. This week, I'll explore Level 2 which affects your entire reality!
In order to truly understand HOW and WHY internal conflicts happen, we're going to break down the individual personalities of each brain. When you understand the motivations of each brain, it helps you look at things from a different perspective. Once this happens, you're able to reprogram the brain, and solve internal conflicts. This is a quick and easy process through emotional strength coaching and the best part is that it brings about lasting change!
Level 2 of my "hack your brain" series involves the Emotional (or Mammalian) brain. Physiologically, this brain includes the Amygdala and Limbic System. Short-term memories are converted to long-term memories here, and they're stored even if you can't consciously remember them. This area of the brain is also referred to collectively as your Subconscious and is where your ego and portions of your super-ego exist. The Subconscious picks up the tiniest details from others and your environment and processes at approximately 10x the speed of your Logical brain. It's designed to do this quickly and relay that information to your Survival brain in an effort to assess real and potential threats. The Survival brain and Emotional brain work together and have the biggest impact on your decisions.

Everything you think or believe to be true about yourself, your circumstances, your identity and preferences originates in this area. It's the truest version of your personality, but can also hold onto deep trauma. The Emotional brain has no concept of time, and can't tell the difference between you and someone else. It's highly programmable! At it's worst, this can cause you to carry burdens (real or imaginary based on your perceptions) including the emotional baggage and problems of others. This baggage can weigh you down and cause stress, anxiety, fear, and anger resulting in self-sabotaging behavior which hinders your forward progress in life. It's really hard to solve a problem if the problem isn't yours!!!!
At its best, this brain can be re-programmed for the reality you WANT. The Emotional brain will believe anything that you tell it. I mean absolutely ANYTHING! The good, the bad, and everything in-between! This brain has a certain perception of events. In essence, it creates its own reality (called emotional reality) that doesn't correspond to ACTUAL reality. So, it's your perceptions that color your emotional response and your reaction to any event or trigger. We can use this highly programmable nature to help you let go of things and situations disturbing you, and replace them with the experiences you do want!
Through emotional strength coaching and release work, I'm able to determine which emotion is trapped in your body, and if it belongs to you or someone else!!! Pretty cool, right?! These techniques can access the Emotional (subconscious) brain in a very quick and precise way to get the answers that have been eluding you for so long.
