Using The Power of Triggers, Glimmers, and Nudges in Everyday Life

If you've ever played video games, then you've probably used short cuts or found the fastest and easiest way to get through the game.

Everything in the game has a purpose.

Sometimes you encounter obstacles and to advance in the game, you have to find the best way around them to get where you want to be.

Life is a lot like a video game.

Everything has its purpose and it's up to you to use what's available for your growth and advancement.

Even if you can't control everything that happens around you, it's your outlook, mindset, and attitude that can make the difference in how comfortable you feel every day.

Making a simple mindset shift like, "Everything is happening FOR me instead of TO me", can empower you to look for opportunities instead of focusing on hardships.

Most people view triggers as something bad that you should avoid if you want to be happy. How empowering is that though?

I prefer to dig in and try to understand what the trigger is trying to tell you. Then, you can eliminate your response to it even if you can't eliminate the trigger.

For example, if traffic makes you anxious, then there's a reason. You can learn about how and why it happens plus some coping mechanisms to make your daily commute easier. Otherwise, unless you move to a rural area, traffic probably isn't going away anytime soon. You can't always eliminate the trigger, but you can learn to make it work for you.

Triggers can show us where we need to heal. This is valuable information!

Glimmers are often considered to be the opposite of a trigger. These are moments where we feel at peace with life. We stop to appreciate the beauty around us with love and gratitude.

When you'd like to improve your mindset, calm your nervous system, and bring more harmony into your life, then glimmers are fantastic! Where your focus goes, your energy flows.

Glimmers are an opportunity to invite more goodness into your life.

So, what about nudges? They're a little quieter, and much like glimmers, they're easy to overlook.

I consider nudges to be your intuition, higher self, or your guides reaching out to help you recognize your path.

In video games, nudges would be like the power-ups that come along randomly to enhance the way you play.

Nudges are there to give us direction about what would make us happy and keep us safe.

Think about some examples in your own life. Maybe you were at the grocery store and were nudged to buy a certain item even if you thought you didn't need it. Then, someone called you to borrow the very item you were nudged to buy.

One of my friends was riding on a train and was nudged to move her suitcase to a different storage area. She didn't listen and discovered her luggage had been stolen when she exited the train!

It's easy to dismiss nudges as coincidence or even paranoia, but I believe that nudges are equally as important as triggers and glimmers. Learning to work with every resource available to you helps connect you to the abundance of life.

If you'd like to work on shifting your mindset to more glimmers and less triggers, or to work on understanding and interpreting your nudges, then schedule an appointment for a customized 1:1 session HERE.
